Introduction

Hispanic Leadership in Higher Education examines the experiences, stories, and approaches that led to Hispanic professionals advancing in critical Higher Education roles. This book provides critical perspective about how academic leadership develops for Hispanic educators and helps readers understand the policies, systems, and practices that impact Hispanic leadership experiences. Encompassing Hispanic-serving institutions and predominantly White institutions, second-career Hispanic men and women, Hispanic professors, and Hispanic administrators, this book serves as the key reference source for faculty and administrators of higher education, students of higher education, librarians, researchers, graduate students, and academicians.

Objective

The purpose of this book is to provide insight into the leadership pathways of Hispanics in higher education contexts. The voices from this book aim to inform audiences regarding the backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of Hispanic leaders. The contributions from this book will extend and expand research topics relevant to Hispanics in leadership. With respect to practical implications, this book will serve as the reference source for educational institutions to reevaluate and improve their Hispanic recruitment and leadership development programs targeting Hispanics for leadership positions ranging from faculty to administrative roles.

This book is geared towards, and will most benefit faculty and administrators of higher education, students of higher education, librarians, researchers, graduate students, and academicians who desire to understand how academic leadership develops for Hispanic educators and the policies, systems, and practices that impact Hispanic leadership experiences in Higher Education.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before October 9, 2023, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by October 23, 2023 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by November 6, 2023, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Hispanic Leadership in Higher Education. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.

All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery® online submission manager.
