What inspired you to write Transforming Scholarly Publishing With Blockchain Technologies and AI?
Prof. Gunter: My interest in Blockchain technology began at a New York Times symposium on Finance and Technology when an audience member asked a question about Blockchain that stumped the panelists. My enthusiasm grew as I had opportunities to learn and share about its potential applications, eventually leading me to develop this book about Blockchain and AI.
What is your mission for Transforming Scholarly Publishing With Blockchain Technologies and AI?
Prof. Gunter: My overarching goal as a participant in the scholarly publishing process is to help improve the quality and pace of scholarly research. It is my hope that Transforming Scholarly Publishing With Blockchain Technologies and AI will encourage our industry leaders to challenge themselves and their organizations to invest the time and resources to determine how these new technologies can be utilized.
Many people know of blockchain in relation to cryptocurrency and its presence in mainstream media. How much more would you say blockchain influences?
Prof. Gunter: Blockchain and its distributed ledger system will bring transparency, clarity and trust to our marketplace.
What are some of the benefits of your research to its community?
Prof. Gunter: We have provided a very strong foundation of information on Blockchain and AI with references. The benefit is that the reader will have a firm understanding of the technologies and its capabilities.
What are some future directions for your research?
Prof. Gunter: We will continue to build on the established research and continue to pursue how the Blockchain and AI will continue to address the current status quo.
How have you seen your field evolve, and how does your publication continue the evolution?
Prof. Gunter: The scholarly publishing industry takes it time to evolve but as it does evolve it does so in a very orderly fashion. It is our hope that our publication will help move this evolution along.
What are other areas that your readership would find of interest?
Prof. Gunter: My readers are eager to learn more about the semantic web, the spatial web, semnatic search and
