Pierluigi Rea is Associate Professor at the Dept. of Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering (DIMCM) at the University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy. He got the Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2002 at the University of Cassino by discussing a thesis on the Experimental Analysis of a PWM Modulated Digital Valve. In 2007 he got the Ph.D. in Civil and Mechanical Engineering by discussing a thesis on the Mechatronic Design of a Robotic Hand with Pneumatic Actuation. From 2007 to 2010 he was Assistant Researcher at the University of Cassino. His main research interests concern topics on the Fluid Automation and Mechatronics, Mechanical Design and Robotics. He is author and/or co-author of more than 85 scientific papers, which appeared on Proceedings of National and International Conferences, International Journals and Books.
Erika Ottaviano is Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Cassino, Italy. She got the Habilitation of Associate professor since 2014. Since 2004, she is member of the IFToMM Technical Committee for Computational Kinematics (TCCK). She served as secretary of this Committee from 2009 to 2017. Since 2014, she served as project evaluator for Int. Science Foundation programs at EU and Non EU level. Since 2011, she served as a member of the Editorial Board of the Int. Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, INTECH Open Access Publisher. Since 2012, she has been appointed Editor for the Int. Journal of Imaging and Robotics (ISSN 2231-525X). Since 2013, she become member of the Editorial Board of the Scientific World Journal, Hindawi Pub. Corporation, Mechanical Engineering. Since 2015, she has been appointed Associate Editor for Mechatronics of the Journal of Applied Sciences, Acta Polytechnica Hungarica, from 2016, she is Editor for American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Science Publications. Research interests cover aspects of Mechanics, Robotics and Mechanical Design of Manipulators and Mobile Robots. Specific subjects of interest are workspace analysis and design of parallel manipulators, with specific emphasis to cable-based parallel manipulators. Since 2005, she started working on assisting devices as based on parallel manipulators with cables, cable-based system and mobile walking and hybrid systems designed for indoor and outdoor inspection. She is author and/or co-author of more than 170 papers published in Proceedings of Int. Conferences or in Journals. In 2018, she served as Editor of the book titled “Mechatronics for Cultural Heritage and Civil Engineering (86726336)”, Intelligent Systems, Control and Automation: Science and Engineering, http://www.springer.com/series/6259. In 2019 she served as Guest Editor of the Special Issue “Advances in Inspection Robotic Systems”, in the Journal Robotics (ISSN 2218-6581).
José Machado concluded Habilitation degree in February 2019 at University of Minho, Portugal. He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering – Automation, from University of Minho, Portugal and, in simultaneous, from Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan, France, in 2006. He is Deputy Director of Metrics Research Center and Assistant Professor at Mechanical Engineering department of University of Minho. He has authored, or co-authored, more than 220 refereed journal and conference proceedings papers. He coordinates and has coordinated - and participated as collaborator - in several Research and Technology Transfer Projects on Mechatronics and Automation domains. His main interests are related with Industry 4.0, more specifically, on the design and development of Cyber-Physical Systems; design and analysis of dependable controllers for obtaining dependable mechatronic systems; and mechatronic systems design with special focus on medical or biomedical applications, wellbeing and/or rehabilitation. He is member of IEEE and member of IFAC.
Katarzyna Antosz, Ph.D., Ds.C., Eng., Associate Professor, since 2002 has been working at Rzeszow University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, Department of Manufacturing and Production Engineering and is a member of the Lean Learning Academy Polska. She is a specialist in the field of improving and increasing the efficiency of production in organizations, using the methods and tools of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, and the reliability and operation of machines and maintenance services in enterprises. Author of many publications in this fields.
