Reviews & Statements

Qualitative and quantitative elements are combined in this study of business process standardization (BPS) in Germany. The author uses four qualitative case studies and two quantitative surveys of the 1,000 largest companies in Germany in the travel, automotive, finance, and energy industries to examine recruitment processes in these large companies and the ways in which BPS affects process performance and process flexibility. Section 1 offers a definition and a review of the research on BPS. In Section 2, the author develops three research models for BPS. In Sections 3 and 4, he analyzes the results of the research, discusses their implications, and provides a road map for future research.
