Editor/Author Biographies
Mohammad Ayub Khan studied BBA and MBA at the Quaid-e-Azam College of Commerce, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Later on, he studied International MBA from Glasgow University, Scotland, UK. While in Mexico, he completed his PhD in Business Administration, from Trident University International, California, USA. Additionally, he has obtained several other certificates: Certificate of Advanced Management, European Summer School, Aarhus Business School, Denmark; English as a Business Language, Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) California, USA; Diploma of Exchange Program for Foreign Students, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. Dr. Ayub is Director of the International Business Department; Director of the University Honors Program; National Coordinator of International Business Academy at campus Monterrey, Tecnológico de Monterrey, México. He is also visiting professor teaching international business courses in different universities: Incarnate Word University, Texas, USA; Trinity University, Texas, USA; University of Applied Sciences, Bocholt, Germany; Ecole de Superior de Comercio Paris (ESCP-EAP), France. He has also collaborated with the Community of European Management School (CEMS) on a Project of EGADE Business School Mexico and CEMS Community of European Management School, through Copenhagen Business School, Denmark and University of Boccioni, Milano, Italy. He has co-authored a book titled The Basics of International Negotiation (ISBN 978-3-639-31584-4). He has published numerous papers on diverse topics in international business and business and management education. Currently, he is teaching international business courses at campus Monterrey, Tecnológico de Monterrey, México.
Diana Bank was born in México City and graduated from Washington University in St Louis, Missouri, USA, with two BA degrees in French and Sociology. After spending a year in France as her Junior Year Abroad, Diana went to Vienna, Austria to complete two MAs in International Affairs and Diplomacy, first at Webster University, campus Vienna, and then at the Diplomatic Academy also in Vienna, Austria. Upon her return to the US, she worked at the US Congress (House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Subcommittee on Western Hemispheric Affairs) and the Mexican Embassy´s North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Office, concentrating on lobbying activities for the passage of the NAFTA. Upon completion of her duties, Diana moved to New York City, where she attended Columbia University´s Graduate School of Business and earned her MBA in December 1995. From 1996 to 2000, Diana worked in the Israeli office of the marketing communications department at BMC, a US-based software company. In parallel, Diana started her PhD in international business and marketing, which she completed in 2008 at Bar Ilan University, not before spending one year at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA from 2000 to 2001 teaching international business. Since then, Diana has been full time faculty teaching international business and marketing at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, campus Puebla, México from 2008 to 2009, and at the University of the Americas in Puebla since January 2010, where she also coordinates three masters programs in marketing and international business. Diana´s main research interests include business diplomacy, social entrepreneurship, and business education in emerging economies.
Edet E. Okon, born 39 years ago, a Nigerian, is currently at the completion stage of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Business Education (within the 2013/2014 Academic Session), having been admitted in 2011/2012 Academic Session in the Department of Vocational Education, Faculty of Education, University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria. He holds a Master of Science (MScEd) Degree, Bachelor of Science (BScEd) Degree, and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) all in Business Education. He is a professional teacher par excellence with instinct for functional and quality business and vocational education using international best practices and standards. The author's scholarly and research experience is unarguably beyond continental borders as exemplified in this co-authorship and over 10 journal articles published in reputable international journals.
Ghassan Al-Qaimari is a Professor of Computer Science and Information Technology and the Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Modern Sciences in Dubai, since August 2013. Prior to that, he held a number of executive management positions including: Dean of Academic Studies at Jumeira; University in Dubai; President of Fujairah College; Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Wollongong in Dubai. He has also held tenured faculty positions at RMIT University in Melbourne (1995-2003), and at Jerusalem (Al-Quds) University (1987-1994). Dr. Al-Qaimari was also a visiting professor at a number of universities including the Australian National University and The University of Wollongong, Australia, the University of Ulm, Germany, and Birzeit University, Palestine. His research publications and accomplishments in the area of Human-Computer Interaction, Usability, Intelligent Interfaces, MIS, Object-Oriented Databases, Software Engineering, and Globalization of E-Commerce Applications are internationally recognized. Dr. Al-Qaimari has over 20 years of experience in industry consulting in public and private sector organizations in the Middle East, Europe, and Australia, and he has been actively involved with major industry players, such as IBM, Telstra, and Mercedes-Benz. Dr. Al-Qaimari was born in Jerusalem. He has a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master Degree in Computer Engineering from University of Detroit Mercy, and he received his PhD in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland in 1994.
Silvia Lizett Olivares Olivares is the Dean of Innovation and Academic Quality at the School of Medicine, Tecnológico de Monterrey, México. She is also member of the faculty team of undergraduate and graduate programs of the School of Engineering and Information Technology and the School of Medicine in the same university. Her research interests and activities are focused on education, specifically on the development and assessment of students´ competences. She has presented the results of her research works in numerous conferences on education and papers and books.
Salvador Treviño-Martínez, Born in the Northern City of Monterrey in México, combines administrative and academic positions as National Director of Alumni Relations and as Professor of Global Marketing Strategy at Tecnológico de Monterrey, México. A professor, consultant, and researcher, Dr. Trevino’s main interests are the notions of innovation, technology, strategy, and the social impact of these areas in individual and collective behaviors. Educated in México and the US, he got a PhD in Business Administration from The University of Memphis, where papers derived from his dissertation were awarded in Mexican and American academic venues. His MBA is from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and his bachelor in Science in Marketing from his long-time base university, Tecnológico de Monterrey, also known as Monterrey Tech. Dr. Trevino has consulted and lectured in several Latin American countries, France, Canada, and the US. He currently lectures in the EGADE Business School and College of Business, Social Sciences and Humanity of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Relevant recognitions include the (2007-2009) best professor award granted three consecutive times by graduating MBA cohorts at the Global MBA program, the teaching fellow award from the University of Memphis, and a research fellow award and two best paper awards. He believes that universities should be learning communities, where professors and students work together on the refinement and evolution of management and business activities. Dr. Trevino has his permanent residence in the city of Monterrey, located in North-Eastern México, where he lives with his wife, Rosi, and their three children.
